Equipment

Instructions

Donut

  • Preheat the oven to 350F and lightly grease a donut pan.
  • Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Separately, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, yogurt, and milk until combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until a batter forms.
1/4 cup unsalted butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Use a piping bag to carefully fill the donut cavities. If you don't have a piping bag, a sandwich bag with the corner cut off also works!
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. To test, gently press your finger into the top of the donut. It is ready if the donut bounces back.
  • Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Remove from the pan & place onto a cooling rack while you make the frosting.
  • To make the chocolate frosting, melt together the chocolate, butter, corn syrup, and water. This can be done in the microwave in 20 second increments or over the stove.
1 cup semi-sweet chopped chocolate or chocolate chips, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, 1 tablespoon water
  • Once the donuts are cool enough to handle, dip one side of the donut into the chocolate frosting. Top with sprinkles & let set. Enjoy!
